    Information

Stora Blåfjell towers 1,254 meters above sea level, making it the highest peak in Hjelmeland.

It is located near the Blåsjø reservoir, and the hike starts from the Førrevassdammen dam. To get here, follow the national road 13 into the Jøsenfjorden, and then to Gullingen in Suldal municipality. Turn off towards Blåsjøvegen when you reach the sign at Mosvatnet (toll road, payment by card).

Note that the area around Stora Blåfjell usually has a lot of snow, which can linger well into spring and early summer.
